Midsummer Nights Dream Act 3 Summary

In Act 3 Scene 1 the actors all gathered in the woods to go and rehearse their parts. Puck the fairy happened to be there and was listining. As always Bottom was taking control and was acting like he was the best. When he went to the back of the bush, Puck changed him into the head of a donkey. When he went out to say his lines all the men screamed and ran away. He thought it was a joke and he started singing to prove to the men that he wasn't scared. His singing woke up the fairy queen Titania. Immediatly Titania fell in love with Bottom eventhough he had the head of a donkey. Titania showed him the fairies Moth, Cobweb and Mustardseed and he made rude jokes about his name.
In Act 3 Scene 2 Oberon and Puck the fairy have a conversation about the flower and how he put it on the Athenian mans eyes. Lysander and Demetrius enter. Lysander and Demetrius start to fight over Helena. Helena still thinks this is a sick joke. Hermia comes in and doesn't know why Lysander left her. Lysander says he is tired of Helena and Helena starts getting upset and Hermia for being in the sick joke also. Hermia gets upset and says she is not part of the joke. Helena still doesn't believe it. Lysander and Demetrius decide to fight over Helena. Puck the fairy realizes that he mistook the wrong guy. So Oberon gave Puck the antidote and told him to fog the forest. Puck pretended to be Lysander and led Demetrius to one way of the forest. And he pretended to be Demetrius and led Lysander to the forest. He led them seperate ways until they got tired and fell asleep. When Lysander went to sleep, Puck the fairy put the antidote on Lysander's eyes.

Midsummer Nights Dream Act II

In Language Arts Class we finished Act II. In Act II the Oberon saw Demetrius treat Helena badly. When Puck the fairy returned with the flower, Oberon took part of the flower and told Puck to put the juice on the flower on a male Athenians eyes for mistreating a women. Oberon was not clear on his description and said you could tell who he is from his clothes, and he was mistreating a lady Athenian. Oberon sent Puck into the woods to find him. When Titania's fairies made her fall asleep, Oberon used the flower and would only get the antidote after he had the boy. Meanwhile as that happened Hermia and Lysander met up in the woods and decide to take a rest. Lysander wants to sleep close to Hermia but Hermia refuses to. When they fall asleep, Puck the fairy has wandered across them, he noticed he was wearing Athenian clothes. He mistaken Lysander for Demetrius and put the flowers juice on his eyes. So the next person he sees he will become in love with them. Helena begs for Demetrius to not leave her next to where Lysander and Hermia are sleeping. Demetrius shakes her off and Helea realizes that Lysander is sleeping. She shakes him awake. Lysander fell in love with Helena. Helena thinks it is a cruel joke and leaves. Lysander decided to forget about Hermia and left. Hermia woken up and couldn't find Lysander. Then she leaves to go find him.

Mr. Gallo has skills!

Who knew? Mr. Ralph Gallo can play basketball! It was open gym Thursday, March 12. I entered the gym and saw Mr. Gallo shoot a three pointer! Not only that he would dribble down the court pump fake anyone in his way and make a swift move to the basket. If not that he would make clean cut pass to one of his teammates. Who knew that my Language Arts teacher can play, it shocked me as I watched in awe as he would drive to the basket. I wonder what other skills he possess or ANY of our teachers hold. Seeing Mr.Gallo on the court tonight made me realize teachers do have lives outside of school.

Midsummer Nights Dream Act 1 Summary

In Language Arts class we have just finished reading Act 1 of Midsummer Nights Dream By William Shakespeare.
What happened in the first scene was that Theseus the Duke of Athens was getting married to Queen Hippolyta on the new moon. The whole town is getting ready to celebrate. Meanwhile Egeus became angry at his daughter Hermia for disrespecting him, because she refuses to marry Demetrius. Egeus takes Hermia to Theseus and says she does not want to marry Demetrius and that you have to because Hermia belongs to Egeus. Hermia explains she does not want to marry Demetrius because she is in love with Lysander. But Egeus thinks that Lysander is just saying those things to his daughter and doesnt really love her. So Theseus tells Hermia if you don't marry Demetrius you will be sent as a nun and will never see a man ever again or you will be killed. He gave her a decision and the decision was due at the New Moon. Everyone leaves except Lysander and Hermia. They make a plan to escape and elope in the woods. Helena walks in Lysander and Hermia tell her their plan. Since Helena is jealous of Hermia she planned to tell Demetrius the plan so she can get praised by him for that one second.
Quince was casting the roles to the play that they were going to preform for the wedding. He picked the partners and Bottom thinks he can do everything on stage and is very self centered. Even though he really isn't anything at all. The crew plans to meet in the woods the same night that Lysander and Hermia decided to meet there. They decided that place because they want it to be a surprise and do not want the people of Athens to see it.

Does Name Brand Count?

Hey Guys. I was wondering does the brand name of an object make it better than others? For example a Microsoft Zune is the same thing as an Apple Ipod...an mp3 player. But does the name brand make it stand out more to others? Why?

Shakespeare sexist?

A while back, I was in Mr. Bonney's 5-6 Language Arts class and we were reading Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare often referred women as "wench" or other names for women that can be very offensive if you use them in every day terms. He showed the male as being the top while the women just clean up after them. Was Shakespeare sexist in his plays personally or was that just the way things were in those times?
